out of this world lifting from big red

Taylor trucks have lifted some unique items in the past, but the components being handled by this Taylor Machine Works, Inc. TX-4030 lift truck are out of this world – literally!

Northrop Grumman, a global leader in aerospace and defense technology, regularly rents this TX-4030 equipped with an ultra-low, three-stage mast and maximum lift capacity of 40,000 pounds. This machine is used to lift and transport crucial components for spacecrafts such as the Cygnus Cargo Vehicle that regularly transports supplies and scientific equipment to the International Space Station.

But why rent this specific lift truck with such regularity? It is due in large part to the three-stage mast, which can be lowered into position for operators to easily navigate low throughways while traveling with awkward, heavy loads.

In the photos below, the strength and versatility of the TX-4030 are on full display as it lifts a variety of components which may end up orbiting the Earth in the not-so-distant future.

From lifting containers filled with mission-critical components to pieces of custom fabricated aerospace equipment, Northrop Grumman depends on Big Red to get the job done.
